(It's one of two that I've owned on cassette, vinyl and CD. "Abbey Road" is the other.) I'm still quite fond of it, though I don't listen to it all that often. I think I'll pull it from the stacks tonight and give it another listen. Thanks for the push.whiterayhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06024257784522729303noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-12331855.post-54033319265044150882010-05-18T09:08:59.124-04:002010-05-18T09:08:59.124-04:00This is about the only DCT era BS&T album I ca...This is about the only DCT era BS&T album I can tolerate. His voice doesn't do it for me at all. I may be in the minority but I prefer Kooper's voice. Admittedly he lacks/lacked the range of DCT, but singing within his range I thought he sounded better (especially on songs like More Than You'll Ever Know, I've heard a live version with DCT that was downright painful to listen to, couldn't even finish it). When it comes to BS&T I'll stick with the debut with Kooper and the Jerry Fisher era material. Fisher was a better singer than either Kooper or DCT, the trouble was that Kooper was so much more than a singer. He was a much better arranger and composer than either Fisher or DCT. So, while Fisher may have been a better singer, the quality of the material on his 3 albums with BS&T isn't as good as that on CIFTM (although I'd argue it's at least as good as, if not better than almost everything DCT did with the band-- the lone exception being the self titled second album you've just reviewed).Perplexiohttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09971805688658949769noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-12331855.post-42773628739740854292010-05-18T08:03:33.958-04:002010-05-18T08:03:33.958-04:00despite being a big Chicago fan, I have never list...despite being a big Chicago fan, I have never listened to any BS&T albums.
