The track list for the Let It Be... Naked project is very close to these. Agree that the fly on the wall "bonus" disc is completely dispensable. They should have polished up the rooftop concert audio and released THAT on the second disc (in it's entirety, without edits). Of course Phil Spector's after-the-fact "upgrade" efforts messed that all up. But it seems like a remix that removes all the extraneous comments & side conversations recorded during the takes kind of defeats the original purpose. It was SUPPOSED to be informal, like listening in on a session. I've also read reviews that claim this album was remixed just to satisfy Paul McCartney's ego....
I just wish they'd chosen a better period musically/songwriting-wise to try this experiment....
TADhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13853931230081777310noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-12331855.post-72434033889309615332013-01-18T15:34:23.208-05:002013-01-18T15:34:23.208-05:00I remember reading in Rolling Stone, when the orig...I remember reading in Rolling Stone, when the original Let it Be album was released, someone compared adding strings to "The Long and Winding Road" with spilling ketchup on the Mona Lisa.William Kateshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07366905492068156424noreply@blogger.com
