They earned it with early pop success and didn't abuse it. They had the artistry and creativity to back it up and push it farther, changing the industry and the music produced by it, and then alongside it.

Peace.Daniel Edlenhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08436936397692338336noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-12331855.post-71958067109277220502008-09-12T09:18:00.000-04:002008-09-12T09:18:00.000-04:00The Beatles were indeed one of the best groups of ...The Beatles were indeed one of the best groups of their time, but there were some other great groups as well, like The Rolling Stones, and my favorite, The Who. I think they most likely were given a wider range of freedom than most bands...but it was a good risk because they never failed. I think they are one of the greatest bands of all time....but its hard for me to call them the GREATEST.Bar L.https://www.blogger.com/profile/11100008292699584336noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-12331855.post-42082479690749263242008-09-10T05:42:00.000-04:002008-09-10T05:42:00.000-04:00An interesting post. Back then, there was generally more artistic freedom compared to today where immediate success is paramount. I can't imagine many record labels putting up with the Pink Floyd's doodlings today - they would've been dropped after Umma Gumma!
So I'd say that the Beatles flourished in an atmosphere of lenience but that huge success afforded them additional 'privaleges'.
In any event they were an awesome band and in the final judgement that's what counts.music obsessivehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16191742084494035205noreply@blogger.com
