Before I had seen a picture of him I had envisioned him for years as a fat, ethnic looking middle aged guy in a tux; that's EXACTLY what he sounds like.

I always loathed Chicago. The horn section and Lamm's Vegas lounge voice as well as Cetera's cheesy pop vocals are just too cheesy. I laughed hysterically when I leaned that in their early days they fancied themselves 'radical chic'. Radicals who sound like Burt Bacharach/ Wayne Newton? Hmmm...Joenoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-12331855.post-1133453967719569122005-12-01T11:19:00.000-05:002005-12-01T11:19:00.000-05:00I still have mixed feelings about this CD. There ...I still have mixed feelings about this CD. There are some songs I really like (mostly the songs sung by Bill, Lee, or Jason). Maybe it's just me but Robert sounds like a Vegas lounge singer on most of the tracks he sings lead on-- especially the snoozer Feliz Navidad. I was hoping for and expecting a fun and light-hearted tune. Chicago's version is, if anything, rather droll and melancholy.

I'd also like to have seen Bill or Robert tackle O Holy Night but I guess it just wasn't in the cards this time around.

I plan on reviewing this for my site as well before this Christmas season is over.

Do you have any plans to write a review for the Peter Cetera Christmas CD? I don't yet have it. I tried to find it last Christmas and they didn't have it ANYWHERE (except, apparently, at the Borders store where he did a signing in downtown Chicago).Perplexiohttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09971805688658949769noreply@blogger.com
